Von der Werkstatt in die Berge: Warum wir mit den Naturidyll Hotels zusammenarbeiten

From the Workshop to the Mountains: Why We Collaborate with Naturidyll Hotels

When we at Tirol Seife prepare a batch of soap, it takes weeks until it’s ready. Cold process means patience. We recognized this very principle, of not forcing anything and allowing nature its time, in the eight Naturidyll Hotels in Austria. It's no wonder then that a collaboration emerged, which we'd like to introduce to you today, along with a small competition to join in.

How it all began

Edina, the founder of Tirol Seife, came to natural cosmetics at the age of 14, though not voluntarily. Her skin couldn't tolerate conventional shower gels and soaps, so she started mixing her own skincare products. This detour eventually grew into a small manufactory in Tyrol, where every soap is still made by hand using the traditional cold process: vegetable oils and fats are saponified with lye at a maximum of 60 degrees, gently enough so that the valuable glycerin remains in the soap, instead of being separated as in industrial production.

Not every product can be perfected on the first try. The plastic-free lip balm in paper packaging, for example, took several attempts; in the end, just one percent less of a single raw material made all the difference. Today, this very balm is one of our most sought-after products.

Eight Hotels, One Shared Idea

The Naturidyll Hotels are scattered across Salzburg, Lower Austria, Carinthia, Tyrol, and Burgenland, but they are united by the same philosophy: relaxation should come from the surroundings themselves, not from a program brochure. For our August article, we took a closer look at six of them, each with a completely unique approach to health.

Hotel im Wald Hammerschmiede in Anthering near Salzburg is Austria's first certified Kneipp hotel. Water treading pools, a barefoot path, and a dip in the rushing mountain stream are open to all guests, surrounded by a herb garden that also supplies the kitchen.

At 1,380 meters, the AlpenOase Sonnhof in Saalbach-Hinterglemm offers thinner air, fewer pollen and fine dust, along with a natural swimming pond and a 3D archery course with 28 stations in the middle of the Glemmtal valley.

The Naturhotel Edelweiss in Wagrain focuses on sustainable wellness enjoyment with its Green Spa, the first of its kind in Europe, built to passive house standards, offering Ayurveda massages and a chemical-free cleaned swimming pond.

In Pielachtal, the Steinschalerhof pampers its guests with wild herb cuisine from its own garden, comprising around 1,000 plant species, right next to the Nixhöhle cave near Frankenfels.

The Landhofmühle in Southern Burgenland specializes in yoga retreats, alkaline fasting weeks, and creative breaks, with views of the Raab Nature Park and the Styrian Volcano Land.

And in Central Burgenland, the Tschardakenhof, with its centuries-old adobe walls, simply invites you to relax in the garden, including the Burgenland Card from the first night.

What connects us

As different as these eight establishments may operate, they all share a conviction that we at Tirol Seife also live by: relaxation doesn't end with the application, nor does it end with the journey. What ultimately goes on your skin is just as important as the water, the mountain air, or the herbs on your plate. That's why we are particularly pleased that the Naturidyll Hotels are also featuring our soaps in their current blog post about health holidays in August.

The Competition

To celebrate the collaboration, we are giving away a natural cosmetics set from our manufactory. You can find all the details on how to participate on our Instagram and Facebook pages, as well as in our next NATURIDYLL newsletter. Feel free to check them out and secure your chance.
