What makes castor oil so special?

Castor oil contains over 85% ricinoleic acid – a rare hydroxy fatty acid that is not found in this concentration in any other natural oil. This ricinoleic acid is the reason for the oil's exceptional properties:

• Foaming – creates a particularly creamy, stable lather
• Moisture-attracting – binds water from the air and skin
• Antibacterial – inhibits the growth of bacteria and fungi
• Anti-inflammatory – soothes irritated skin
• Film-forming – protects the skin from drying out
