A piece of Tyrol in every application: Pure stone pine oil

Stone Pine Oil – The Scent of Tyrol in its Purest Form

Anyone who has ever walked through a stone pine forest in the Tyrolean Alps will never forget its scent. Resinous, warm, deep, and unmistakable – the stone pine is the symbol of the Alpine region. And the essential oil, extracted from its needles and resin, is one of the most valuable and characteristic raw materials in our Tirol Soaps.

What is Stone Pine Oil?

Essential stone pine oil is obtained by steam distillation from the needles and young branches of the stone pine – Latin Pinus cembra. The stone pine primarily grows in the Alps and Carpathians, at altitudes between 1,500 and 2,500 meters. It is one of Europe's longest-lived tree species and can reach over 1,000 years of age.

In Tyrol, the stone pine holds special cultural significance – its wood is used to make furniture, parlor walls, and bedrooms because its scent has been proven to improve sleep and lower heart rate.
