At 14 years old, I had an allergic reaction to a conventional shower gel for the first time...
Reddened skin, irritations, the unpleasant feeling that the product in my hands was not doing me any good.
From then on, I exclusively used natural products – and eventually started making them myself.
That wasn't a business idea. That was my everyday life.
In 2020, this became a real plan:
If we're going to make soaps – we're going to do it right. With self-developed recipes, honest ingredients, and the conviction that a soap can not only cleanse but truly nourish.
Tirol Seife was founded in 2022. And what could be more fitting? Tyrol is nature – and that's exactly what our products are.

Tirol Seife is a family business – and you can tell.
I, Edina, take care of everything to do with the products: purchasing, calculations, customer inquiries, and the development of each individual recipe. I test until I am truly satisfied. Sometimes this involves many iterations. Sometimes it's the difference of a single percent of a single raw material.
My husband Zoltán is the technical backbone of Tirol Seife. He can literally build and implement anything – every renovation of the manufactory, every expansion, every practical solution in production.
We complement each other almost perfectly: I am dynamic, he is precise. I have many ideas, he has the calm perspective to see which ones really work.
We have the same goal. The same path. And that connects us more than one might think.
HOW WE PRODUCE – The Cold Process
Our soaps are made using the traditional cold process – and that's not a marketing promise, but the reason why they feel different.
In the cold process, vegetable oils and fats are combined with lye at a maximum of 60 degrees Celsius. This gentle process has a decisive effect: the valuable nourishing properties of the oils are fully preserved.
Olive oil retains its moisturizing properties. Shea butter its nourishing vitamins. Essential oils their therapeutic effect.
And the natural glycerin that is produced during saponification? That remains in the soap – in industrial production, it is extracted and resold. Not with us.
The cold process takes time. But it is precisely this time that makes the difference: between a soap that cleanses and one that nourishes.
OUR APPROACH – Sustainability is not a choice
"Palm oil-free, plastic-free, small batches – how did you decide on that?"
I get this question often. And my honest answer is: It wasn't a conscious decision. It's just deeply ingrained in me.
In everyday production, this means:
- Personalized products only made to order – no overproduction, no warehouse full of unsold goods
- Fixed production days – resources are consolidated, not wasted
- Soaps cast in molds, not cut – no production waste
- Palm oil-free – always, consistently, without exception
- Sometimes saying no – to projects where we would have to compromise on natural ingredients
That last "no" is the most uncomfortable. But it's the most important.
REGIONAL ROOTS – Tyrol in every soap
We work with raw materials we know – and with people we know personally.
I discovered the Tyrolean forest honey, which is now in one of our most sought-after soaps, in a farm shop in Bad Häring. The first taste immediately made it clear: This is something special. For me, forest honey is liquid gold – it nourishes, has an antibacterial effect, and does wonderful things both internally and externally.
Today we know: The honey comes from one of our neighbors. I simply pick it up on foot when we need a few jars.
That is regional value creation – without any press conference.
