Frequently Asked Questions

THE SOAPI 101

Which surfaces does the Soapi adhere to? Tiles, glass, stainless steel, mirrors, acrylic, concrete, wood, and smooth ceramics – anything that is smooth and even. Surfaces with a special lotus-effect coating are not suitable, as nothing adheres to them permanently. It adheres to painted or plastered walls, but adhesive residue may remain when removed.

How much weight can the Soapi hold? Up to 250 g – this is sufficient for all common natural and commercial soaps, as well as solid shampoo bars, which usually weigh between 80 g and 150 g.

Is the adhesive strip waterproof? Yes, the adhesive strip is completely waterproof and designed for permanent use in the shower and bathroom.

What if my bathroom is cold? Both the wall and the adhesive strip should be at room temperature. For cold surfaces, simply pre-warm briefly with a hairdryer – then the adhesive will stick reliably.

How do I remove the Soapi? Thread a dental floss behind the holder and saw – the adhesive strip will release without residue. On painted walls, the paint may be damaged.

Does the soap drip when hanging on the wall? That depends on the application. If you stop the water while soaping, the lather stays on the soap and doesn't run down. It also saves water.

What are the remaining approx. 10% in the material? The fishing nets are cleaned and shredded in Denmark. Salt water and sun exposure make the material porous – to make it workable again, 2% stabilizer is added. The rest are color pigments, which vary depending on the color. The recycled content varies between approx. 90% and approx. 97%, depending on the color.

THE CROWN CAP FAQ

Which crown caps can I use? Exclusively crown caps from beverage bottles. Crown caps are produced uniformly worldwide – the sheet metal varies minimally but has no influence on the magnetic function. The more intact the crown cap, the better – an undamaged lacquer protects against rust.

What do I do if the crown cap doesn't go into the soap? Briefly moisten the soap and let it rest for 30-60 minutes. Particularly hard soaps (e.g., Aleppo olive oil soaps) sometimes need a little longer. Repeat the process if necessary until the soap is soft enough. Then press the soap around the crown cap and let it dry completely.

Does the crown cap rust? If the lacquer is intact and the crown cap has been correctly pressed into the soap, neither air nor water can reach the metal. Properly embedded, the crown cap remains rust-free.

Will the crown cap eventually scratch the skin? No – the soap shrinks evenly around the crown cap, so it remains completely enclosed almost until the end. If only a small remnant is left, it is advisable to start a new soap. Tip: Press the old and new pieces together when wet and let them dry – they will merge.

Does the Soapi also work with our Tyrolean natural soaps? Yes – our handmade natural soaps from Wörgl are soft enough to easily accommodate the crown cap. For fresh soaps, brief moistening is sufficient.

How to assemble your Soapi

  1. Prepare the wall – Clean the mounting surface without cleaning agents and let it dry completely. No residue, no water – only then will the adhesive stick reliably.
  2. Press the Soapi firmly – Press the Soapi firmly and evenly against the wall. Press all around so that the adhesive sticks to the entire surface. Allow 24 hours to dry before applying full load.
  3. Press crown cap into the soap – Briefly moisten the soap and let it sit for 1–2 minutes. It will then be soft enough to press the crown cap halfway in. Please only use crown caps from beverage bottles – no other closures.
  4. Close gaps and let dry – Press the soap evenly around the crown cap until no gaps are visible. Allow to dry completely.
  5. Hang the soap – Insert the soap with the crown cap into the magnetic holder. Done.

Good to know:

  • The Soapi adheres to tiles, glass, stainless steel, and ceramic.
  • The adhesive is waterproof and suitable for use in showers and bathrooms.
  • To remove: thread dental floss behind the holder and saw – residue-free.
  • Only use crown caps from beverage bottles (1 crown cap included).

Sustainability

The Soapi is more than a practical soap holder – it is a product that closes a true circular economy.

Recycled fishing nets instead of plastic waste in the sea The Soapi's casing is made from approx. 90% recycled fishing nets and marine plastic waste. Our partner in Denmark collects discarded nets, ropes, and plastic waste from the oceans, processes them into plastic granulate – and from this granulate, the Soapi is created. What would otherwise float in the sea now ends up in your bathroom in a new form.

Produced in Berlin The Soapis are cast and assembled in Berlin. Short distances, transparent production, no low-wage countries.

Lifetime Guarantee Because the Soapi is made from high-quality materials in Germany, it comes with a lifetime guarantee. Should it ever break, it will be repaired – no throwing away, no buying new.

Fewer plastic bottles in the bathroom Those who use solid soap and solid shampoo no longer need plastic bottles. The Soapi makes this transition easier – because solid soap hangs on the wall and feels just as uncomplicated as from a bottle. This is the real sustainability effect: not just the product itself, but the behavior it enables.
